Lift cables carry serious load alongside the springs. When one frays or snaps, we replace both cables as a pair and check the drums for wear.
A single-cable fix often means a second failure soon after. We explain the pair-replacement logic upfront.
Cable replacement without a drum check is an incomplete repair, so we always look at both.
Our technicians are trained to safely release and reset tension when cables are involved, not just the springs.
Cable stock in standard gauges means most replacements happen in a single visit.
Specialized service lines covering the full range of Garage Door Cable Repair calls we take, backed by flat-rate pricing and a written warranty.
We replace the snapped cable and its pair, then verify even tension across both sides.
Catching a fraying cable early avoids the sudden, uneven drop that comes with a full snap.
If the cable keeps slipping off the drum, we look for a bent drum or misaligned track causing the repeat issue.
We match new drums to the correct diameter for your door's cable length requirements.
A door hanging crooked usually means one cable or spring has failed while the other holds. We correct both the immediate hazard and the root cause.
Tell us if the door is hanging crooked or jammed, that detail helps us prioritize the call correctly.
Technicians carry standard cable gauges and lengths for most residential doors.
We check both cables and the drums together, then quote a flat price covering the full fix.
Cables replaced, tension balanced, and the door tested level before we leave, backed by written warranty.
“Door was hanging at an angle after a cable snapped. They replaced both cables and it's perfectly level now.”
“Caught the fraying cable during a routine call before it actually snapped. Appreciated the heads-up.”
“Same-day fix on a Saturday, cable stock right there on the truck.”
One side losing tension while the other holds is the classic sign of a single cable or spring failure.
Both cables typically get replaced together to avoid a near-term repeat call.
We treat cable failures as priority calls given the safety risk involved.
Repeated slipping points to a drum issue rather than just the cable itself, which we'll inspect.
Pricing depends on cable length, gauge, and whether the drums also need replacing, confirmed as a flat number before work starts.
Most cable replacements are completed same-day, typically within one to two hours once the technician arrives.
Licensed technicians, flat-rate pricing, and a truck stocked for this exact job.
